History
The Scientific Research Institute of
Cardiology
was organized in 1977 in accordance with a resolution of the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and the Council of
Ministers of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. The founding of the
institute was conditioned by the need for adequate and rational use of
the available medical potential in Kazakhstan, the putting in order of
scientific development in the field of cardiology, as well as by the
improvement of the quality of maintenance of specialized cardiological
aid assistance to the population.
Today the Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases under the Ministry of Health is the main specialized institution carrying out methodical control of health care in Kazakhstan and which determines its development strategy.
The Scientific Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has a clinical base that meets all of today’s requirements of a curative, diagnostic, as well as an in- and out-patients and prophylactic enterprise. The clinic has a capacity for 240 patients, out of which 60 are in self-financing departments. It has 313 staff members among whom 55 are scientific research workers, 48 with degrees, 20 - doctors of the highest category, and 10 – first class doctors. Since the time of its creation, the institute has had steady scientific and information links with its partners in other CIS countries namely: Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, as well as those overseas - the USA, Germany, Finland and Japan. All in all, the institute has held two international conferences, a congress, a plenum of the Association of Cardiologists in Kazakhstan, as well as 17 international symposiums. The institute’s staff constantly takes part in the organization of practical scientific conferences.
